What I do

Ms. Strandburg loves spending time with her adult children and grandchildren. They love baking and doing art projects with her. She is an avid cook and loves trying her hand at new ethnic cuisines. Ms. Strandburg’s children all received excellent educations going through the Old Orchard Beach public school system. One is a director of nursing, one a physical therapist and one a machinist.

Ms. Strandburg also spends time being creative in the fiber arts and painting.She also loves to read historical fiction.

Dawn Strandburg (formerly Godan) is a PreK-2 Visual Arts Teacher at Jameson School since August 2000. She also taught Elementary Art in South Berwick, Maine and the M.S.A.D. 6 system. She has a BFA degree with honors from Alfred University. She has worked as a mentor to student art teachers from U.S.M., MECA and U.N.E. in order to give back to the field she is so passionate about.

Besides teaching art in the public school system Ms. Strandburg has worked in the field of professional photography, custom art framing, art instructor for the international organization Elderhostel, and 5 years as a Summer Arts director at Oceanwood Camp and Conference Center.
