Ben Harris

What I do

Living in a small town, I have found several different ways to be an active member of my community. I work part-time with the Goodwin’s Mills Fire-Rescue as the deputy chief and as a firefighter/Advanced EMT. I am also a State Fire Instructor through the Maine Fire Service Institute. I serveson several different boards and committees in my hometown.

Mr. Harris has been principal of Jameson Elementary School since 2022. Prior to coming to Jameson he had been assistant principal and then principal for 10 years in a different district. Mr. Harris lives on his family’s farm with his wife and three daughters. Mr Harris loves working in OOB. The students, staff, and community are very welcoming, and he hopes to be the last principal of Jameson School, before the community builds a new building in what is hopefully the not too distant future. Mr. Harris graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with his B.S. in Elementary Education, The University of Southern Maine with a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from St. Joseph’s College, and a Masters in Public Administration, Emergency Management from Anna Maria College. Mr. Harris is also a certified Firefighter/Advanced EMT, and a State Fire Instructor.
